Again, WIKA received Zero Accident Award and Golden Flag
Having successfully received MCC for Safety Award 2005 last November, this year PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) recorded two remarkable achievements respectively which are “Golden Flag” from Inspection Company, Sucofindo and “Zero Accident Award” from the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration. It was due to WIKA’s concern with Work Health and Safety implementation in each line of business.
Represented by Operational Director II, Djoko Mulyono, the bestowal was directly given by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono together with the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, Erman Suparno in the National Palace, Thursday (12/1).
Golden Flag Award bestowed to the Company applying Work, Health and Safety Management System and recorded a score of 85% of 166 criteria supposed to be fulfilled. These are the third achievement. In 2005, WIKA recorded a score of 96%, which is categorized as nearly perfect for steel manufacturer.
With excellent implementation of (Occupational Health and safety Management System) OHSAS and SMK3 (Work Occupational Health and Safety) and minor accident record, P2K3 has recommended WIKA to take part in Zero Accident Award 2006. WIKA has successfully received predicate of 20,669,735 safe work hours.
Coincide with the month of K3(January 12 up to February 12) declared by the Ministry of Manpower and transmigration in its press release, WIKA will organize a number of events to commemorate month of K3, among others: sharing (discussion)with oil and gas contractor and recognition to several WIKA’s projects that achieved 500,000 safe working hours.
