Petrokimia performs benchmark on WIKA as IQA 2005′s Best Company
PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) received the visit of representatives of Petro Kimia, Gresik, at the Head Office, Jakarta, last Wednesday, 12 April 2006. The visit of those respected guests was part of the benchmark programme regarding WIKA’s success as one of the two best state companies in the Indonesia Quality Award (IQA) forum which refers to MBCPE (Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence). In addition to WIKA, PT Telkom became the state company to achieve “Good Performance Company” award according to IQA measurement.
This comparative study programme was in reality becoming a sharing session. The event which lasted for three hours was well organized by WIKA team comprising GM Human Resources (GMSDM) and GM Business System Development (GMPSU) that included Dra. Noeraini P, M.si (Human Resources Development Bureau), as well as Ir. Agung Yunanto, MM, Ir. Indra Kusumaningrum and Ir. Seno Utomo, MM (GMPSU).
During the event, WIKA proposed seven criteria that should be taken into account and carried out consisting of leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focused strategy, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, human resources focused policy, management of process and business result.
As a Learning Organization, WIKA considers learning activites that include benchmarking and sharing session essential. All the activities are basically devised to share information and experience on Baldrige’s criteria in their company, enabling every company to learn from other’s experience and enrich knowledge which hopefully serve as a guidance to become a world-class organization.
