PT WIJAYA KARYA (Persero) Tbk. (WIKA) distributed Higher Education Scholarships for male and female members of the TNI and POLRI in Bali Province. This educational aid for the country's children was symbolically handed over by the General Manager of Corporate Relations (GM CR) of WIKA, Achmad Harris A. Soekamto together with the Chief of Staff of the Regional Military Command (Kasdam) IX/Udayana, Brigadier General Harfendi, to the sons and daughters of TNI members in Denpasar, Bali. on Thursday (24/2). This hybrid event was also attended by the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir and the Commander of the TNI, Andika Perkasa who watched online from the TNI Headquarters, Jakarta.
"In order to appreciate the achievements of the Indonesian Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Police, through the collaboration of BUMN-BUMN, WIKA takes part in the distribution of educational scholarships for the sons and daughters of the Indonesian National Police and the Indonesian National Police, and we specifically distribute them in the Province of Bali. It is hoped that through this scholarship program, education in Indonesia can advance in the future,” said GM CR WIKA, Achmad Harris A. Soekamto.
In addition, Harris revealed that this program strongly supports the Sustainable Development Goals, especially in the 4th category on Quality Education, and is a form of support for the Focus of the TJSL Program set by KBUMN, namely Education, Environment and Micro and Small Business Development. "All of them are efforts to realize a Sustainable Company through the development of education for the younger generation which is an important asset in building the nation and state," he concluded.
WIKA joined other SOEs in distributing scholarships in the form of education savings in the amount of Rp. 13 billion to support the learning needs of outstanding Indonesian students. Of the 2,600 students who are sons and daughters of members of the TNI and POLRI, each of them received a scholarship worth Rp. 5 million.
Kasdam IX/Udayana, Brigadier General Harfendi also expressed his appreciation for the support from WIKA and the Ministry of SOEs.
"Thank you for the scholarship support in providing quality and enlightened education to the nation's children. Hopefully this program will motivate our children to make achievements in the future," said Brigadier General Harfendi.
