WIKA signs MOU to overcome traffic jam in Jakarta
The Indonesian Government is committed to immediately overcoming the traffic problem in the nation’s Capital Jakarta which has caused an extra high inefficiency. PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA), along with 14 companies, has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Development and Organization of Jakarta Metro System on Monday (17/4) at the State Ministry of State Company office, Jakarta.
The MOU was signed by PT Wijaya Karya, PT Hutama Karya, PT Adhi Karya, PT Pembangunan Perumahan, PT Waskita Karya, PT Indah Karya, PT Saka Adhi Prada, PT Wiratman & Associates, PT LEN Industri, PT INKA, PT Trans System, PT KAI, PT Indonesia Transit Central, PT Global Profex Synergy dan PT DanaReksa Sekuritas. Through the MOU, Goverment has involved the companies to develop a transportation mode “Jakarta Metro System” along the track of Lebak Bulus-Fatmawati-Senayan-Dukuh Atas. Goverment has also invited relevant parties to invest in the development with relations to its specific expertise based on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) scheme. The Minister of State Company (BUMN) and officers from Jakarta Municipal Government were also present in the signing ceremony, along with other officials.
The project which should be accomplished in three years enables WIKA to prove its best performance, and provides a momentum for Indonesia to show the world the competence of Indonesian independent and reliable human resources to build a giant infrastructure.
