WIKA to construct 259 houses in Aceh
On April 2006, WIKA signed a contract with BRCS (British Red Cross Society) to build houses in Aceh following earthquake and tsunami strike. This project will be conducted outside Sumatera island, that is in Breueh island, 45-minute drive by speed boat or 2,5-hour drive by motor boat.
259 house units worth 29 billion rupiah should be built by WIKA within 6 months (180 working days) with 90 days maintenance phase.
The locations of project spread in several villages, including: Gugop 1 (68 units), Gugop 2 (60 units), Ulee Paya (46 units) Searapong (61 units) and Teunom (24 units).
Permanent houses type 45 m2 consist of 3 types (“full brick”, “wood” and “full wood”). WIKA holds the responsibility to supply other materials excluding wood and sand. In order to get the best quality and delivery, “khousin” type bricks are supplied from Jakarta.
Ir. Djaka Nugraha was appointed as project manager. The 180 construction days will last from 21 April 2006 to 21 October 2006.
