Final Clossure WIKA at Teluk Muba Bridge
Project Bridge Muba Bay remained work at only 3% to do, that was finishing phase. On 15 May 2006, Project Muba Bay has done the Topping Off as the main structure work. That event was presented by Ir. Suardi Bahar, Engineering Manager I PT Wijaya Karya (Wika) and Head of PU Binamarga.
The bridge stands steadily in Air Teluk Village, Lais Region, Muba Regency, South Sumatra. With project amounted Rp 44.7 billion funded by Regional-State Budget of the Province of Muba the project has taken place since 2003 until late of May 2006.
As the main contractor, Wika applied method of Cast In Situ Balanced Cantilever by utilizing tools called formwork Traveller. The bridge is operated in balance to pier, whose eminence is that all activities focused on traveller and suitable to work location not to use a scaffolding such as under the bridge is a river.
This bridge differs from that bridge in Batam-Tonton. ?In this bridge, Box Girder spread 104 m wide, pier condition is topped monolith to the bridge main structure. This could be the longest bridge in Indonesia or even in South-East Asia for this kind of bridge, ?
