President Joko Widodo accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono inaugurated the construction of an underpass of Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) on Friday (1/31/2020). The 1.4 kilometer underpass, which also the longest underpass in Indonesia, was completed by the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Highways on December 6, 2019 and was opened to the public (open traffic) on Friday (1/24/2020).
YIA Underpass also got MURI's record as the longest underpass in Indonesia. MURI Director Osman Semesta Soesilo handed over MURI certificates to the President Director of WIKA Tumiyana.
