WIKA and CIC Complete Suramadu Bridge Infrastructure Project
PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk and national Contractor companies which joined in Consortium of Indonesian Contractor (CIC) were success to complete Suramadu Bridge project on schedule. The project whose length 5, 4 km connects Java Island to Madura Island. The project whose value in amount of IDR 4,5 trillion is hoped can increase economic growth in East Java, especially in Madura Island.
The project had inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono accompanied by Minister of Public Work Djoko Kirmanto in Sekar Bungo Village, Labang Subdistrict, Bangkalan Regency, Madura (10/6).
The projectâ??s works are consist of four main works i.e.; the cause way at Surabaya side with length 1,44 km and at Madura side with length 1,86 km, approach Bridge at Surabaya and madura side with length 672 m and main gate with length 818 meter.
Meanwhile, scope of WIKAâ??s works cover the cause way at Surabaya side with length 1,44 km, Approach bridge at Surabaya from Java Island to main gate with length 672 meter. The main gate was constructed by main contractor from China and Approach Bridge from main gate to Madura Island was constructed by consortium member without WIKA. The project had been started on October 15, 2009.

WIKA and other contractors are success to complete the project on schedule, and itâ??s hoped by operating this bridge can increase local economic growth, especially in Madura,â?? said President Director of WIKA Bintang Perbowo.
At Suramadu project, CIC carried out the project in amount of USD 41,13 plus IDR 341,30 billion and for each member of CIC including WIKA get 25 % from obtained contract total.
WIKA carried out drainage, asphalt, structure work, bored pile, and pile cap, pier and block girder for Approach Bridge from Surabaya to Main gate with length 672 meter. â??To supply high quality pre cast concrete product for bridge & road structure, we use product of WIKA Beton, it is an evidence of integration model between holding company and subsidiary which is implemented by WIKA. In order to make sure distribution of quality good and to guarantee timely delivery,â?? said Bintang
