WIKA Gets Contract of Aviation Fuel Supply Facility Project in Amount of US$ 43 million from Pertamina
PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk won opening tender in amount of USD 43,28 million (IDR 454,65 billion from PT Pertamina- Directorate of Marketing and Business to build Aviation Fuel Supply Facility in Kualanamu Airport, North Sumatera. There by, WIKA become the first national contractor which constructs similar projects in Indonesia that is dominated by contractor from Japan and Korean.
“It is achievement and recognition for WIKA’s competency because we are the first national contractor in EPC project to construct Aviation Fuel Supply Facility in Kualanamu as main contractor,” said President Director of WIKA Bintang Perbowo.
For the project work, WIKA is trusted to carry out design, fabrication, inspection, testing, installation/construction, start up and commissioning and mechanical performance or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, construction) package. For EPC work, it consist of process work, mechanical and piping (tank, pump, valve & MOV, hydrant pump, tank gauging, fire fighting), civil work for construction of clean water facility, electrical work (electricity installation and telecommunication) and instrumentation work (automatic system, ESD, detection system).
The project will be complete on the next 22 months since the instruction letter is announced to carry out SPMP or around February 2011.
At the present time, WIKA still focus on Pertamina’s projects both from Directorate of Marketing and Business or Directorate of Management, the several projects which had already done were Balongan pipeline II, Jakarta-Cikampek with length 122 km in amount of USD 32 million.
“We are optimistic, utility division can reach contract target in 2009 in amount of USD 50 million, it’s proved from 86 % obtained division target at the end of first semester. And the most important thing, WIKA has already got recognition for its capacity and its performance to carry out projects with difficult challenges and can compete with other foreign contractor companies in Indonesia, in order to become ability for us to compete in higher level, “Bintang said
