WIKA Succeeds Completing the Longest Double Track in Indonesia and the largest Depot in South East Asia
President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) On January 22, 2008 officially launched Double Track Kutoarjo-Yogyakarta along with Depo KRL Depok. The Double Track started from Kutoarjo to Yogyakarta, which is 68 kilometers in length was initiated in 2004 and completed in 2007. In this Launching, was also present, The Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan HB X, The Ambassador of Japan, The Directors of PT Kereta Api Indonesia and PT Wijaya Karya. It was started at 14.00 WIB. The Ambassador of Japan, represented by Mr. Ken Okinawa, in his speech gave the appreciation over the completion of the land transportation facility that is capable of solving the transportation problems in the Central Java area and West Java (for Depo KRL Depok). The honor hopefully becomes the spirit of the investor to give contribution for the development in Indonesia.
In his speech, SBY emphasized that the transportation system in Indonesia is indeed supposed to be improved in terms of the maximum service so that the users optimally are able to utilize the facility given by the government. It is considered that the users are relatively lack of convenience so far, and with the addition of the transportation facilities it is expected that said matter can be reduced. Therefore, it directly allows the enhancement of the society economic ways with fine means of transportations. Also in his speech, SBY stated his appreciation to all parties that has been supporting the success of the completion of the big project, including to PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk as the operational contractor.
WIKA job description includes the double track work, such as bridge and culvert, either the new or the in-rehabilitation one. The new one, which is 64 km in length and the in-rehabilitation one is along 26 km. Three new railway stations are also built in addition to rehabilitate 6 old stations and the construction of 23 units of the track guarding, and the replacement of means of telecommunication and signaling.

Depo KRL Depok is the biggest in South East Asia with the capacity of 200 trains.
Depo KRL (Kereta Listrik) Depok which is the means of train or electrical train compartment maintenance as well as the warehouse and the inspection site of Depo KRL, is stated the largest in South East Asia. It needs 26 hectar-field to build this depo with the domination of the soft swamp soil that initially needs to be poured with soil. The location is in Kelurahan Ratu Jaya, Kecamatan Pancoran, Depok City.
The launching of the project, on last January 22, 2008, along with the Double Track project Kutoarjo-Yogyakarta was conducted with the press conference from Kutoarjo. WIKA is the contractor trusted to execute the earth works, such as excavation, borrow, sub ballast, civil work like 3 over bridges, box culvert, RC pipe, depo facility and the building work for office administration, which is 2,200 meters large, shed, steel structure, maintenance and building washing, which is 8,600 meters square.
During the construction process, the project team uses the new technology using the Program Land Desktop Development (LDD) to ease the survey execution in order to make the standardization of the steeling work control in structure works.
