DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Entrusts WIKA KSO to Build RDF Plant Rorotan
The positive trend in new contract wins continues with the win of the new contract for the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant Rorotan project in North Jakarta, which will be worked on together with Jaya Konstruksi Manggala Pratama Tbk (Jakon) in a consortium (KSO) scheme. The signing of this contract was carried out by Andika Firmansyah from the DKI Jakarta Environmental Service and Harum Akhmad Zuhdi, Director of Operations II WIKA in Jakarta, on Tuesday (26/3).
Harum Akhmad Zuhdi said that as the implementing contractor for this project, WIKA holds a 60% share of the total project value of Rp1.28 trillion (US$85 million).
The project, which is being carried out by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Environmental Service, aims to support the government's program to reduce the amount of waste in the capital city. Through this RDF technology, waste will be processed into alternative fuel that can be used for the cement and electricity industries with lower carbon emissions.
The RDF Plant Rorotan itself will have a waste processing capacity of 2,500 tons/day. Processing with the homogenizers process will produce 875 tons/day of RDF Baller.
"It is an honor for WIKA to be involved in the optimal management of the capital city's waste, where the waste will be processed to produce new renewable energy sources. On the other hand, this project is also the first RDF portfolio for contractors in Indonesia, making it a plus for WIKA. Therefore, we are committed to completing this project on time and to the agreed quality," said Harum.
