Established since 1960, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has built various important infrastructure to improve the economy, energy security and national independence. Not necessarily born as a construction company, WIKA, which was originally an electrical installation company, then transformed into a global construction company. Having end-to-end capacity, WIKA has proven to be able to work on mega-scale projects starting from the engineering, procurement, construction to commissioning (EPCC) stage.
WIKA started its journey as an EPCC construction company since 2004. In that 21-year period, WIKA has worked on 45 Industrial Plant projects to increase the value of domestic products, including through 12 smelters for processing nickel, cooper and alumina products, 8 coal handling facilities (CHF) to improve coal management and distribution processes, to 4 fertilizer factories, 2 sugar factories and 7 cooking oil factories to improve food security, and 9 cement factories as upstream of improving domestic infrastructure.
In addition to supporting food self-sufficiency and domestic products, WIKA has also built projects to support Indonesia's energy security. These projects include 43 power plant projects with a total capacity of more than 14,800 Megawatts and 38 global standard oil and gas projects such as gas pipelines, fuel tanks, LPG Terminals and Aircraft Filling Depots in Indonesia.
As a company that continues to innovate, WIKA adopts the latest technology in each of its projects. The implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) enables efficiency in project planning and execution, while the utilization of other digitalization systems increases productivity and operational effectiveness. WIKA also ensures that all its projects meet high safety and sustainability standards, in line with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
