In commemoration of its 65th anniversary, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) carries out a series of social and environmental responsibility (CSR) activities as a form of ESG implementation and supports President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita.
As an effort to support the independence of the Indonesian nation through a green economy, WIKA plants 6,500 productive trees that can absorb carbon at 65 points spread across various operating locations of WIKA and its subsidiaries. The symbolization of tree planting was carried out by WIKA's President Director, Agung BW, along with the management at the Serang Panimbang Toll Road Project Section 2.
WIKA also held a Cheerful Circumcision program for 65 orphans and dhuafa children from foundations, orphanages, and families of internal workers, such as security officers, cleaners, and drivers.
In addition, health equipment assistance is provided to Posyandu and Posbindu at 65 points. This program supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Healthy and Prosperous Life, especially regarding universal health coverage.
In closing, WIKA held Blood Donation in various operating areas with a total participation of 650 blood bags to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and help meet national blood needs.
“The 65th WIKA Anniversary Celebration is not only an expression of the Company's gratitude, but a tangible manifestation of WIKA's concern for the environment, health, and community welfare. WIKA hopes that this initiative can bring sustainable benefits and inspire more parties to jointly build a better Indonesia,” concluded Agung BW.
