PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) won new contracts amounting to IDR 19.96 trillion until November 2024. This achievement increased by 17.6% compared to October's achievement which was at IDR 16.98 trillion. The new contract also added to the Company's current contract, where until November 2024 the Company's total work contracts amounted to Rp 64.37 trillion.
Based on the type of work, the majority of the new contracts came from the Infrastructure and Building segment which amounted to 37%. While other segments such as the construction support industry contributed 30%, followed by EPCC at 20%, and Property at 12%.
As of November 2024, the Company is working on 73 construction projects spread throughout Indonesia, of which 39 projects are National Strategic Projects and 8 projects of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN).
WIKA's President Director, Agung Budi Waskito (BW), is optimistic that the transformation steps that have been carried out by the Company, namely focusing on project execution excellence, diversifying a strong and diverse portfolio of work, and implementing a superior Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) in the national construction industry, will further enhance the Company's competitiveness in obtaining work contracts.
Some of the new projects obtained during this period include the EPC Coal Handling Train Loading System (TLS) 6 & 7 project in South Sumatra worth Rp 1.80 Trillion and the IKN Toll Road Project Section 1B Segment Sepinggan Airport - Balsam Toll Road in Balikpapan worth Rp 675 Billion. These new projects obtained have a monthly progress payment scheme with an advance so that they are able to operate independently, in line with WIKA's transformation step, namely cash focussed.
“With the acquisition of the TLS Coal Handling EPC project and the world's largest RDF waste processing EPC project, the Rorotan RDF Plant in 2024, it further strengthens WIKA's portfolio as the best EPC construction company in Indonesia. We believe the EPC field will be WIKA's leading sector in the future.” Said Agung BW.
Moreover, currently the Government is also focusing on increasing domestic added value through downstreaming and industrialization. Agung BW believes that with the largest EPC competency and portfolio in Indonesia, WIKA will be able to realize the Government's Asta Cita mission.
