PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) is currently focusing on completing the construction of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Section 3 Phase 1 Cileles-Panimbang through a consortium scheme in which WIKA is involved. In the construction of this project, WIKA has a scope of work on the Rangkasbitung - Simpang Susun Bojong section, with work covering the construction of roads and bridges along 3.72 Km.
President Director of WIKA, Agung Budi Waskito, said that currently the construction has recorded progress of 50.1%. As one of the PSN being worked on, the Serang Panimbang Toll Road Project Section 3 Phase I is one of the projects that is being pushed for implementation in the hope that it will be completed this year.
Agung BW also said that the construction on the section will help increase the number of vehicles on the Serang-Panimbang toll road which is managed by WIKA Serang Panimbang as the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT).
Section 3 itself is the last section of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Project which is being worked on to support access to the Banten tourism area and its surroundings by shortening the travel time from DKI Jakarta - Tanjung Lesung from 4 hours to 2.5 hours. The existence of this toll road will also contribute to the economic development of the community, especially in the Central and South Banten regions.
In addition to Section 3 Phase I, WIKA is also working on Section 2 Rangkas Bitung - Cileles for 24.17 km in addition to Section I which is currently operating.
The construction of the two sections has provided positive contributions, including through the absorption of construction labor of around 1,300 people and the expenditure of UMKM project partner businesses worth around Rp 1 Trillion.
"We always encourage the involvement of SMEs in the construction of our various projects, including the Serang Panimbang Toll Road. We believe that with this involvement, the community can feel the benefits of the project from the construction period in terms of increasing the economic growth of the surrounding area and the benefits of accessibility when the project is already operating," said Agung BW.
