As part of the Company's commitment to sustainability, WIKA plays a role in supporting government efforts through equitable management of water resources throughout Indonesia. One of these steps is realized through the construction of the Cijurey Dam Package III in Bogor Regency, West Java Province.
The construction of the Cijurey Dam Package III is carried out through a consortium scheme with JAKON (KSO) with WIKA's portion of 70% with a project value received by the Company of IDR 724 billion.
Entering the initial progress of 1.63%, WIKA is focusing on completing the right access road and excavation of the spill way building. This is included in its scope of work which includes the construction of access roads, spillway buildings, and hydromechanics. The construction of this project is planned to last until October 2028.
The National Strategic Project (PSN) initiated by the Ministry of PUPR has a storage capacity of 9.76 million cubic meters, which will be useful for reducing flooding from the upstream Cihoe River by 59.33% and providing irrigation for the Bogor Regency area of 2,047 hectares.
Agung BW said that WIKA's role in supporting the optimization of water resources in Indonesia is also realized by the Company's participation in the World Water Forum 2024 agenda with the theme “Water for Shared Prosperity” which is held in Bali, 20 - 26 May 2024.
“We, together with other BUMN Karya, participated in introducing Indonesia as a host that has high awareness and concern for the potential benefits of water which were then realized into various infrastructure works. The works that we display are also the result of strong synergy with the Ministry of PUPR,” said Agung BW.
