PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the acceleration of the development of the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN). This is reflected in the positive progress achieved in the Hankam Area Road and Sepaku 4 Ring Road Project entrusted by the Ministry of Public Works through the Directorate General of Highways, with the current project progress reaching 62.83%.
This project plays a strategic role as the main connectivity infrastructure connecting the defense and security area with access to the legislative area in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN. WIKA's scope of work includes the construction of a ±10.964-kilometer road, the construction of a Multi Utility Tunnel (MUT), six-lane road paving, and the construction of bridges. This infrastructure is designed to support efficient mobility, smooth distribution of government logistics, and sustainable integration of underground utilities.
In addition to strengthening the connectivity of the core government area, this project also provides long-term benefits in the form of increased accessibility between strategic zones in IKN, accelerated movement of defense and security personnel and logistics, and support for economic activities around the development area. The presence of roads and an integrated utility system is expected to create a more orderly, modern, and sustainable spatial layout, as well as lay the foundation for integrated area development.
WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito said that this achievement was the result of optimizing implementation strategies and collaboration between project teams in the field. "We continue to accelerate work on critical tracks while maintaining quality and work safety standards. The Hankam and Lingkar Sepaku Road Project is WIKA's tangible contribution to supporting the government's Asta Cita vision, particularly in strengthening infrastructure connectivity, promoting equitable development, and enhancing the competitiveness of the IKN region," said Agung BW.
A number of key works have shown significant progress, including the completion of part of the Multi Utility Tunnel, earthworks and geosynthetics, granular and cement concrete paving, and bridge structure progress. Currently, the focus of the work is on completing Bridge Section 3.1, the Paspampres Access Bridge to the HPK Intersection, the continuation of the MUT construction, and road paving on several segments of the route.
All work stages are carried out with the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and strict quality control through routine inspections, material testing, and adaptive work method supervision. Moving forward, WIKA targets the completion of the main structure so that this project can soon function as the backbone of the road network supporting the integrated development of KIPP IKN.
