The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, conducted an official visit to one of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk’s (WIKA) projects, the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (JSDP) Zone 1, located on Jalan Pluit Timur Raya, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Thursday (24/10). Gibran was accompanied by Minister of Public Works Doddy Hanggodo, Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti, and Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi.
Gibran emphasized the importance of completing the JSDP on schedule to promptly address waste management issues in Central, West, and North Jakarta, encompassing eight districts. Currently, the project’s progress stands at 17.59%, with a target completion date in 2026.
The project, led by WIKA, aims to mitigate the direct impact on water and sanitation conditions resulting from high waste production in DKI Jakarta’s densely populated residential, commercial, and industrial zones.
During the visit, Vice President Gibran thoroughly inspected various parts of the project site, wearing complete personal protective equipment (PPE), and engaged in discussions with several project workers to ensure quality standards were upheld.
Earlier, on Tuesday (22/10), Vice President Gibran also reviewed the progress of the Cibubur Youth Elite Sport Center (CYESC) in East Jakarta, accompanied by Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat, Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti, and WIKA’s President Director, Agung Budi Waskito.
The CYESC project has reached 61% completion, with a target to finish by December 2024. This WIKA-led project will serve as a training hub for various sports, including archery, rock climbing, swimming, and gymnastics.
WIKA’s President Director, Agung Budi Waskito, expressed appreciation for Vice President Gibran’s visit to the CYESC project. He hopes that this visit will further motivate the project team to complete the development on time and with the highest quality standards, so that its benefits can soon be realized by Indonesia’s youth and athletes.
