Two projects carried out by PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) were awarded the Indonesian Construction Award by the Ministry of PUPR as the culmination of the Indonesia Construction Exhibition with the theme Accelerating Digital Transformation in the Construction Sector to Achieve Sustainable Infrastructure Development in Jakarta, Friday (3/11).
The award for the implementation of increasing the use of domestic products in the category of Bina Marga service providers was given to the Cisumdawu Toll Road Construction Project Package II, which was carried out by MCC-WIKA-Nindya-Waskita KSO. Meanwhile, the Construction Safety Management System Award was given to the IKN Toll Road Project Section 3B Segment KKT Kariangau - Sp. Tempadung, which was carried out by WIKA-PP-Jaya Konstruksi (Jakon) KSO.
The awards were presented directly by the Secretary General of the Ministry of PUPR, Mohammad Zainal Fatah, to Yasir Fajri Arrofiq, Project Manager of the WIKA Cisumdawu Package II Project and Randy Meivishar, Project Manager of the IKN Toll Road Section 3B Segment KKT Kariangau - Sp. Tempadung, and witnessed by the Minister of PUPR, Basuki Hadimuljono.
WIKA's QHSE Director, Ayu Widya Kiswari, who was present on the occasion, said that this award is a form of recognition of WIKA's efforts to carry out its operational activities while prioritizing the use of TKDN and based on a safety management system for a safe and comfortable working environment.
"We appreciate the support and trust given by the Ministry of PUPR. We believe that strong collaboration with project owners and partners is needed to succeed in construction work in our country. This award further motivates us to complete the various projects entrusted to WIKA," said Ayu Widya Kiswari.
WIKA and WIKA Beton Win Awards at the Indonesia Construction Safety Awards (ICSA) 2023
Meanwhile, WIKA, together with its subsidiary PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (WIKA Beton), also won awards at the Indonesia Construction Safety Awards (ICSA) 2023 event, which was held by the Indonesian Construction Safety Experts Association (PAKKI) at the Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (2/11/2023).
WIKA took first place in the Emergency Response Category for the Tsunami Simulation on the Wani Port Donggala Project, and second place for the Best Safety Innovation for the assessment of construction site facilities at WIKA Beton's Precast Concrete factory in Bogor. Each award was received by Febry Eka Saputra as HSE Manager from the Wani Port Donggala Project and Verly Widiantoro as Technical Director of WIKA Beton.
This event is a form of appreciation given by PAKKI to Construction Service Companies that have made maximum efforts in implementing the Occupational Safety and Health Management System.
