The Ameroro National Strategic Project (PSN) Dam, located in Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on Tuesday (14/5).
President Jokowi said that the Ameroro Dam is the 40th dam that has been successfully built to prevent water crises in Indonesia, by increasing water storage capacity and as a flood control that is beneficial for the people of Konawe Regency.
"With a storage capacity of 88 million cubic meters and a flooded area of 398 hectares, the Ameroro Dam is expected to be able to reduce and reduce the intensity of floods in the Konawe area," said Joko Widodo.
In the construction of the dam, WIKA-BRP-SCA KSO was entrusted by the Ministry of PUPR to work on Package I with the scope of work including access roads segment IV, bypasses, intake, and the main dam body.
President Director of WIKA Agung Budi Waskito (BW) said that this inauguration also reflects the Company's commitment to continue to push for the completion of PSN entrusted to the Company.
"Of course, this cannot be separated from the support of stakeholders, especially the Ministry of PUPR as the project owner, as well as work partners and the community. It is believed that the existence of the Ameroro Dam can provide benefits to the people of Konawe," said Agung BW.
Also present at the inauguration to accompany the President were, among others, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi, Acting Governor of Southeast Sulawesi Andap Budhi Revianto, Acting Regent of Konawe Harmin Ramba, and President Director of WIKA Agung Budi Waskito.
