President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the Cileunyi - Sumedang - Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road, West Java, on Tuesday (11/7). The inauguration was held in front of the Twin Tunnel, marked by the process of tapping the toll card at the sensor substation and signing the inscription.
President Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of State-owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, Sumedang Regent Dony Ahmad Munir, Majalengka Regent Karna Sobahi, Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna, WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito, and Director of Operations I Hananto Aji.
The Cisumdawu Toll Road is part of the Trans Java Toll Road in West Java, included as a National Strategic Project (PSN) to support the acceleration of connectivity and optimizing the operation of Kertajati Airport.
"With the operation of this toll road, it is expected to facilitate public connectivity to Kertajati airport, which has the potential to become the gateway to a new economic centre in the West Java region," President Jokowi said in his remarks.
Having a 61.6 km long track which is divided into 6 sections, WIKA was entrusted to work on sections 2 and 4A. In section 2, WIKA is a member of KSO with MCC-Nindya Karya-Waskita Karya on the Ciherang-Sumedang section which stretches for 10.1 km and has been functionally operated since December 2022. In its scope of work, WIKA contributes to the process of embankment, excavation, and construction of the 430m Cinapel bridge.
While in section 4A on the Cimalaka section which has a length of 5.65 km, WIKA's scope of work includes the construction of the Pedestrian Bridge (JPO), Underpass Bridge, Box Underpass, and Overpass Bridge which was successfully completed in 750 working days.
WIKA is also trusted as the executor in handling the Bojongtotor slope for 180 days until 6 November 2023. This handling is carried out as an effort to overcome landslides, using the ground anchor method, without disturbing toll road users because the location of the handling is outside the toll road.
Agung Budi Waskito also said that WIKA's contribution to the construction of the Cisumdawu Toll Road is not only to support regional connectivity, but also to lift the community's economy including the absorption of 2,000 workers in the construction process of the three projects.
"The Cisumdawu Toll Road reflects WIKA's commitment to answering public trust in completing the work entrusted to the Company, while presenting tangible benefits to the community to contribute directly to the construction of the project," said Agung BW.
