PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) continues to accelerate its work on the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) project, including the construction of the IKN Toll Road Segment 3B KKT Kariangau - SP. Tempadung. WIKA is part of a KSO with PP-JAKON to complete the toll road with a contract value of Rp1.91 trillion.
This project is part of the Balikpapan-IKN Toll Road which is being worked on as an effort to improve connectivity, as well as becoming access to the Central Core Government Zone (KIPP) in the State Capital which stretches for 7.3 km.
Started since 2022, with 456 workers involved, WIKA KSO has been able to show significant progress of 37% overall. With this progress, WIKA is currently in the stage of concrete structure work on the top subgrade or road surface, as well as the Pulau Balang Bridge work, which is targeted to reach 75% by the end of 2023.
In the process of building the toll road, WIKA also takes part as a contractor that pioneers the use of BIM at the 5D level, which is the construction planning and project management level that allows collaboration of geometric data, cost processing results, project quantity and schedule. Not only that, WIKA also implements Augmented Reality (AR) technology to produce better visualizations while minimizing the risk of work errors.
President Director of WIKA Agung Budi Waskito (BW) said that the use of construction technology in the IKN project is a reflection of the progress and superior competence of WIKA's human resources in the construction environment.
"This breakthrough will make the construction process more comprehensive, analysis more in-depth and project management more efficient," said Agung BW.
