PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) through its subsidiary PT Wijaya Karya Serang Panimbang is ready to operate the 26.5 km Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Section 1 (Serang-Rangkasbitung) to support the Lebaran 2025 homecoming flow. This toll road is designed to reduce travel time from Jabodetabek to the Central and South Banten regions, which previously took 3-4 hours, can now be reached in just 1-2 hours.
To increase public comfort while passing through the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road during the homecoming flow, WIKA provides various important facilities, such as four units of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) spread in strategic locations, a portable Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) unit, operational and transaction services that are ready to serve 24 hours, as well as ten operational vehicle units such as rescue units, ambulances, cranes, patrols, and PJR. In addition, each toll gate (GT Cikeusal, GT Tunjung Teja & GT Rangkasbitung) is also equipped with two mobile readers for transaction services, and there are three posts at the Rangkasbitung Toll Exit, namely a security post in collaboration with the TNI, a safety post in collaboration with the Police, and a health post in collaboration with PMI.
The Serang-Panimbang Toll Road consists of three integrated sections. Section 1 Serang-Rangkasbitung with a length of 26.5 km has been in operation since December 2021. Section 2 Rangkasbitung-Cileles, which has a length of 24.1 km, is currently under construction and is planned to start operating in October 2025. Meanwhile, the 33km Cileles-Panimbang Section 3 is divided into two sub-sections: Section 3A Cileles-Bojong with a length of 17.46 km and Section 3B Bojong-Panimbang with a length of 15.54 km, both of which are targeted to be operational in September 2025 and April 2026. So it is estimated that this toll road can be 100% connected in the second quarter of 2026.
For information, in the long term, the construction of the Serang Panimbang Toll Road is expected to have a significant impact on reducing logistics costs in Indonesia. Based on an economic feasibility study conducted by the Ministry of PUPR in 2016, the Serang Panimbang Toll Road is projected to reduce Vehicle Operating Costs (BOK) by 30% and cut travel time for goods transportation by 50%. Thus, the delivery of goods from Jabodetabek to South-Central Banten will become more efficient, both in terms of time and cost.
“We are committed to ensuring the readiness of the infrastructure and toll facilities that we operate, so that people's homecoming trips can take place safely, smoothly and pleasantly,” said Agung BW, President Director of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk.
