One of the important pillars of this transformation is the strengthening of hospital infrastructure and facilities."
The Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, added, "The construction of the Central Medical Unit Building at Dr. Sardjito General Hospital is a strategic step towards providing excellent, equitable, and people-oriented healthcare services in the future. This building is expected to become a healthcare service centre for Yogyakarta, southern Java, and even nationally, while providing sustainable benefits for improving the quality of life for the community."
The CMU building at Dr Sardjito General Hospital is planned to consist of two basement floors and 13 main floors, with completion targeted for the end of 2027. The building has a total area of 55,574 m² and is designed with a 14-storey vertical stacking concept.
The facilities provided include enhanced critical care services through ICU, HCU, observation rooms, and resuscitation units. Surgical services are equipped with 21 major operating rooms and 6 minor operating rooms integrated with pre-operative and post-operative areas. From a diagnostic perspective, the CMU Building is equipped with radiology facilities such as CT-Scan, 3 Tesla MRI, X-Ray, CT Spectral Photon-Counting, and fluoroscopy, as well as integrated laboratories including UPTD Lab, Integrated Lab, BGSi Lab, and anatomical and molecular pathology facilities.
In its implementation, Hutama Karya–WIKA KSO applies Building Information Modelling (BIM) based on ISO 19650 and lean construction principles to improve efficiency, planning accuracy, and project implementation quality. This approach is in line with Asta Cita in promoting sustainable, effective, and public service-oriented infrastructure development. Given that the construction is carried out in a hospital environment that remains operational, work safety, internal traffic management, and intensive coordination with hospital management are top priorities to ensure that health services continue to run optimally.
WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito (BW) emphasised WIKA's commitment to supporting the national development agenda through the provision of quality health infrastructure. ‘Through the Hutama Karya–WIKA KSO collaboration, we are committed to delivering the Dr Sardjito General Hospital CMU Building as an integrated, high-standard critical care, surgical, and diagnostic facility,’ said Agung BW.
This project is WIKA's tangible contribution to supporting the Government's Asta Cita, particularly in improving human resource quality through reliable healthcare services. WIKA ensures the implementation of quality, safety, and sustainability standards in every stage of construction, while maintaining hospital operations during the construction period. We aim to complete this project by the end of 2027 so that its benefits can be felt by the community as soon as possible.
