PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), through the WIKA-ADHI Joint Operation (KSO), continues to demonstrate positive performance in the construction of the Patimban Access Toll Road Project. To date, the project's physical progress has reached 68%, reflecting faster and more effective construction, in line with plans.
The Patimban Access Toll Road was built to improve connectivity between Patimban Port and industrial areas, logistics, and the national road network. This toll road is expected to facilitate logistics flows and export-import activities, while strengthening Patimban Port's role as a strategic port supporting national economic growth.
In line with the Government's Goal, the Patimban Access Toll Road Project contributes significantly to promoting equitable economic development and strengthening the national logistics system. This infrastructure supports the development of new economic growth centers in northern West Java, lowers national logistics costs, increases the competitiveness of domestic products, and reduces the burden on Tanjung Priok Port. Thus, this toll road plays a role in creating an inclusive, efficient, and sustainable transportation system.
The Patimban Access Toll Road project itself is targeted for completion by March 31, 2027, and to date, progress has been progressing ahead of the established timeline. This situation provides optimism for the project's timely completion to support the accelerated operation of Patimban Port as a strategic national logistics hub.
During its implementation, WIKA has implemented various construction innovations, particularly for the Patimban Access Toll Road Package 4. One of these is the use of the Hydraulic Static Pile Driving (HSPD) method for spun pile driving work on narrow plots of land near densely populated residential areas. This method significantly reduces noise, vibration, and the risk of damage to buildings surrounding the project, thereby improving implementation efficiency, construction quality, and structural reliability.
In addition to focusing on accelerated development, WIKA also implements the highest Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) standards and risk-based safety monitoring throughout all stages of construction. From an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) perspective, this project prioritizes environmental impact management, construction waste management, and community empowerment through local labor absorption, in line with the sustainable development principles outlined in Asta Cita (Association of Indonesian National Assets).
"The Patimban Access Toll Road is a strategic infrastructure project that we are building to strengthen national logistics connectivity while simultaneously encouraging more equitable economic growth. With progress reaching 68%, WIKA is optimistic that this project will be completed on time and provide tangible benefits to the community, the business world, and strengthen the national logistics system, in line with the government's Asta Cita," said Agung BW, WIKA's President Director.
Going forward, the Patimban Access Toll Road is expected to improve public accessibility, create jobs, encourage the growth of new economic activity in the surrounding area, and serve as a logistics backbone that enhances supply chain efficiency and national competitiveness.
