PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has achieved an ESG Score of 53/100 for its commitment, consistency and sustainability principles in every aspect of operating and business performance. This makes WIKA the first construction company in Indonesia to be included in the ESG Rating Version of the international rating agency S&P Global as of March 20, 2025.
The results of this score make WIKA ranked 6th out of all industrial sectors in Indonesia and ranked 25th in the world in the construction & engineering sector. This rating result is a reflection of the company's commitment to sustainability and good governance in the construction sector.
In addition to having a significant role in Indonesia's infrastructure development, WIKA has also demonstrated a superior track record in terms of ESG implementation. This is reflected in the assessment of WIKA's environmental dimension which obtained a score of 29 out of an average industry score of 27, as well as a score of 47 out of an average industry score of 31 for the economic governance dimension. As for the social dimension, WIKA managed to obtain a score of 77 from the average industry score of 28. This achievement is equivalent to international infrastructure companies such as Ferrovial SE.
The overall score above the average industry score shows the Company's success in carrying out business transformation that focuses on improving sustainability governance, community development and improving workers' welfare. WIKA is committed to continuously improving transparency and optimal risk management. In addition, WIKA also applies environmentally friendly technology in each operating area to minimize the environmental impact of construction activities.
In its assessment, S&P Global uses various methods of approach, including through aspects of company disclosure, media and stakeholder analysis, and direct involvement of the company in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). This method provides a comprehensive picture of how the Company manages the sustainability of its operations, as well as how it adapts to the challenges and opportunities that exist in the global market.
