Supporting the Ministry of PUPR's Steps to Anticipate Rob Floods on the Coast of Jakarta Bay
Jakarta - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) is currently working on the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) in Stage 6 Package 4, located in Kali Dadap, Tangerang Regency and Kamal Muara Urban Village, North Jakarta.
This project, one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) from the Ministry of PUPR, is a coastal embankment construction project that aims to overcome rob floods caused by rising water levels, and to provide long-term protection, especially for coastal communities who are most affected.
WIKA, which is part of a consortium with Hutama Karya KSO with WIKA's portion of Rp 163.5 billion, is responsible for the construction of a coastal protection embankment along Jakarta Bay for 2.582 km, as well as a number of pumping stations spread across several areas.
Pumps with a capacity of 100 liters/second and pumps with a capacity of 300 liters/second are being built in the area covering Kosambi District, and two pumps with a capacity of 500 liters/second are being built to cover the Penjaringan District area. WIKA has previous experience in this type of project, having completed the construction of the Sentiong Pumping House in Ancol, North Jakarta, which has a capacity of 50,000 liters/second.
In addition, WIKA is also building a number of facilities to improve the quality of life for coastal communities, including building a pier for fishermen's access and a landscape area that can function as a sports field or other facilities.
President Director of WIKA, Agung Budi Waskito, said that to support the achievement of the goals set by the Ministry of PUPR, it is important to ensure that this project is carried out with optimal quality and on time.
In the midst of WIKA's current restructuring and transformation, WIKA continues to strive to complete all of the PSNs entrusted to WIKA on time, including the NCICD project. As a result, WIKA hopes for the support of all stakeholders and that the benefits can be immediately felt by the wider community.
In line with this, the construction of this project also involves the support of WIKA Beton as a subsidiary to supply and install spun pile poles. In the installation process, WIKA Beton uses inner bore technology, which makes the process more environmentally friendly because it does not cause air pollution, noise pollution, and minimal vibration.
