WIKA has commenced the construction of a Temporary Housing Project (Huntara) in the Senen area, Central Jakarta. The project was initiated by the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) in collaboration with BP BUMN and Danantara, as a follow-up to President Prabowo’s commitment to provide decent housing in densely populated areas around Pasar Senen and Tanah Abang stations.
The Huntara project in Senen is intended to serve as housing for the relocation of residents currently living along railway tracks, aiming to improve quality of life and safety without compromising access to economic activities, while also being integrated with public transportation.
In this project, WIKA is responsible for constructing 107 modular temporary housing units (huntara) out of a total of 324 units. Each unit measures approximately 4.5 x 4.5 meters and is equipped with basic facilities such as clean water from PDAM, electricity, public facilities, open spaces, as well as supporting infrastructure including access roads, drainage, a prayer room (musholla), playgrounds, and a communal kitchen.
The project commenced on April 3, 2026, and is targeted for completion by June 15, 2026, under a design and build contract scheme. The implementation is carried out collaboratively across state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and partners to ensure accelerated development while maintaining quality.
WIKA President Director, Agung Budi Waskito, stated, “The housing project in Senen reflects WIKA’s commitment to delivering housing solutions that are not only physically adequate but also integrated with transportation systems and community economic activities. The Company is committed to completing this project on time with the highest quality, so it can immediately deliver tangible benefits to future residents.”
Through this project, WIKA reaffirms its role as a strategic partner of the government in delivering development solutions that directly contribute to improving people’s quality of life.
Currently, the project has entered its initial phase, including land clearing, earthworks, and the mobilization of materials and equipment. Construction activities will continue to be accelerated to meet the targeted completion schedule.
