The construction of Danantara Housing (HUNTARA) for communities affected by disasters in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province, continues to show significant progress as part of efforts to restore and sustain the lives of residents. This programme is being implemented through collaboration between Danantara Indonesia, BP BUMN, and various state-owned enterprises, one of which is PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA).
As a form of direct attention from the state to the post-disaster recovery process, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, conducted a field visit to review the progress of HUNTARA construction in Aceh Tamiang. The visit reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring that affected communities immediately obtain decent, safe, and dignified housing.
The construction of Danantara Housing began on 24 December 2025 and has shown significant progress in a short period of time. As of 1 January 2026, 198 housing units have been built, with a target of 600 units to be completed by 8 January, and will continue to increase gradually with a target of completing 15,000 units within the next three months.
Rosan Roeslani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Danantara Indonesia, said that the achievement of Huntara's construction until the beginning of this year was inseparable from the hard work and synergy of various parties, particularly the active role of state-owned enterprises in supporting execution in the field. ‘The target for the construction of Danantara Housing in Aceh Tamiang was clearly set from the outset, and the achievements as of 1 January 2026 demonstrate the strong commitment of all parties to meet it. SOEs are moving quickly, working in the field under difficult conditions, to ensure that the community immediately receives decent housing,’ he explained.
Meanwhile, Dony Oskaria, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara Indonesia, highlighted the discipline and intensity of SOEs' work in pursuing tight deadlines. "The construction of Danantara Housing was carried out within a very limited time frame. SOEs are working with high intensity, accelerating construction, procuring materials, and conducting quality control simultaneously so that the target can be achieved before the beginning of the year," he explained.
Danantara Housing is designed in accordance with emergency housing standards, taking into account safety, health, and the sustainability of community social activities. Each unit is equipped with basic facilities, while the residential area is supported by supporting infrastructure such as electricity access, internet connectivity, health facilities, sanitation, and public spaces for residents.
WIKA also played an active role in the implementation of construction in the field together with other BUMN Karya, as part of cross-BUMN synergy under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia. The entire construction process is carried out with high intensity and quality control to ensure that the target time and quality of housing can be achieved. WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito (BW) said that WIKA's involvement in the construction of HUNTARA is a manifestation of the Company's commitment to carrying out its strategic role as a state-owned enterprise.
‘The construction of Danantara Housing is a tangible form of mutual cooperation in helping communities affected by disasters. WIKA is present as part of the state's efforts to ensure that residents obtain temporary housing that is decent and safe as a first step in restoring their lives,’ said Agung BW.
This field inspection also serves as a means to ensure that the entire construction process is running according to plan and responding to the urgent needs of the affected communities. The collaboration between the government, Danantara Indonesia, SOEs, and other stakeholders reflects the spirit of togetherness in accompanying the community during the transition from emergency response to initial recovery.
Through the construction of Danantara Housing, the state is providing a foundation for the disaster-affected community in Aceh Tamiang to get back on their feet and continue their lives safely and with dignity.
