PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) again shows its concern for communities affected by disasters by distributing aid to flood victims in East Jakarta and Bekasi. Through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program and collaboration with the BUMN Disaster Task Force (Satgas), WIKA ensures that assistance is optimally distributed to the affected areas.
To ensure that the assistance is right on target, WIKA focuses on distribution to Bidara Cina Village in East Jakarta and Pondok Gede Permai in Bekasi. In East Jakarta, the assistance distributed includes mineral water, blankets, and new ready-to-use clothes for around 600 affected residents. The assistance is received directly by representatives of the village and is expected to ease the burden on the community in restoring post-flood conditions.
Meanwhile, in Bekasi, WIKA together with the BUMN Disaster Task Force in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) distributed assistance in the form of drinking water, instant food, medicines and cleaning equipment for thousands of affected residents. The handover ceremony took place at the BNPB Jatiasih Warehouse, attended by Major General TNI Lukmansyah (Deputy 3 BNPB), Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) Bambang Eko Pratolo (BNPB Expert), as well as representatives from various BUMNs.
In addition to distributing logistical assistance, WIKA also mobilizes a team of volunteers to help clean up public facilities affected by flooding. This effort is made so that people can immediately return to their daily activities with better conditions.
“WIKA strives to always be useful for the community, especially in difficult times such as the current flood disaster. We hope that the assistance distributed can ease the burden on residents and accelerate environmental recovery. WIKA also continues to coordinate with related parties so that the assistance provided is right on target and beneficial for flood victims,” said Agung BW.
