WIKA Focuses on Working on National Strategic Projects
PT WIJAYA KARYA (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) accelerating the development of national strategic project (PSN). Currently, WIKA is engaged in 25 national strategic projects, some of which include toll highways, dams, and industrial plant facilities dispersed around the nation.
Mahendra Vijaya, WIKA Corporate Secretary, stated that several of the national strategic projects that WIKA had been given responsibility for this year were expected to be completed. The 5.65 KM segment IV Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road construction project, whose progress has now reached 98% and is currently physically operational, is one of those that is anticipated to be finished soon. The Cisumdawu Toll Road that included as the Trans Java Toll Road in West Java, is about to connecting Bandung, Sumedang, and Majalengka. It is anticipated that the Cisumdawu toll road would develop into a useful route that may shorten travel times.
Furthermore, WIKA is also working on the PSN Ameroro Dam Package I, which has reported progress of 71.45% with impounding scheduled for 2023. The Konawe people's agriculture and livestock can be developed with the help of this dam, which was built by the Ministry of PUPR to improve the amount of water storage in Southeast Sulawesi. It will also supply irrigation, raw water, and a micro hydro power plant.
Another PSN in the dam sector that WIKA is working on is the Pamukkulu Dam Project as a multifunctional dam located in the upper reaches of the Pappa River in Kale Ko'mara Village, South Sulawesi. WIKA is entrusted with working on package I which includes the construction of the main dam with the construction progress reaching 68% with the target of completion in 2024.
In addition, WIKA is also working on the PSN EPC Storage Tank & Piping RDMP Refinery Unit (RU) V Balikpapan with the scope of mechanical construction as well as the commissioning and hydrotest phases for tanks located in the RDMP area owned by PT Pertamina (Persero). WIKA targeting some of the tanks to be completed in April 2024.
Mahendra added that one of WIKA's future focuses is to complete the construction of projects entrusted by the Company, including PSN. This has proven WIKA's commitment believing that the completion of these projects will provide great benefits to the wider community.
