PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has secured new contracts worth Rp 15.41 trillion as of July 2023. This achievement has increased the company's order book to Rp 61.39 trillion.
Diverse Project Portfolio
The largest contribution to the new contract wins came from the infrastructure and building construction segment (40.70%), followed by the industry and EPCC segments, and real estate and property.
Government and SOE Projects
In terms of clients, the majority of the projects won by the company came from the government and state-owned enterprises (SOEs) with a monthly progress payment scheme. Some of the projects successfully obtained by the company in July 2023 include the construction of the Southern Jakarta Toll Road Section 2 and the Wososukas SPAM segments 2 and 4.
Maintaining Client Trust
WIKA Corporate Secretary, Mahendra Vijaya, believes that the new contract wins prove that the company still has the trust of its clients. This is because the company has consistently delivered good performance and has proven its ability to complete strategic national projects in recent times.
Supporting UMKM
WIKA's business continuity is also accompanied by the empowerment of UMKM, as reflected in the payment of Rp 636.29 billion to 1,314 partners in August 2023 alone. Of this amount, Rp 198.86 billion was paid to 1,072 partners who are UMKM.
"This payment proves that WIKA's current business is still able to provide the company's ability to fulfill WIKA's commitments to its partners, so that the company maintains the trust of its partners," said Mahendra.
This shows that the company's transformation efforts are starting to bear fruit, as the company's business activities are able to generate cash inflow. WIKA's step to prioritize payments to partners is based on the company's belief that the support provided by partners will have a positive impact on WIKA's business continuity.
