PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national education infrastructure development by securing a new contract for the construction of Garuda Superior High School in North Kalimantan Province. For this project, WIKA is collaborating with its subsidiary, PT Wijaya Karya Bangunan Gedung Tbk (WEGE), under a Joint Operation (KSO) scheme.
This strategic project, located in Jelai Selor Village, Tanjung Selor District, Bulungan Regency, has a contract value of IDR 290.9 billion. The scope of work entrusted to the WIKA-WEGE KSO includes the construction of an integrated and comprehensive educational facility, from preparatory work and implementation of a construction safety management (K3) system, land preparation, to the physical construction of the main building and area utilities.
The facilities to be constructed include academic buildings, classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, an arts and performance theater, a mosque, and sports facilities such as a soccer field. In addition, this area also features supporting housing in the form of student dormitories (Graha Putra and Graha Putri), staff apartments, 29 pairs of Type I official residences, and special housing for the principal and guests.
WIKA's President Director, Agung Budi Waskito (BW), stated that this project represents the company's concrete contribution to strengthening the quality of human resources through the development of equitable educational infrastructure, extending to border areas.
"The acquisition of the Garuda Superior High School project reflects the government's confidence in WIKA's capabilities in providing high-quality educational infrastructure. We are committed to completing construction on time, with the highest quality standards, and ensuring that this facility can become a center for developing superior science and technology talent for Indonesia's young generation, particularly in border areas," said Agung BW.
"This project not only provides physical infrastructure, but also represents a long-term investment in human development. This initiative aligns with the direction of national development through Asta Cita, particularly in creating a superior generation ready to compete globally," he added.
The establishment of Garuda Superior High School is expected to become a center for science and technology education, fostering the development of superior human resources and expanding access to quality education in border areas. This project aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's national development vision, Asta Cita, which prioritizes education, mastery of science, and equitable development as the foundation for a prosperous Indonesia.
