PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting national strategic infrastructure development through the Sepaku Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Interconnection Network Development project. To date, physical progress on the project has reached 86% and remains on track for completion in March 2026.
Some of the progress made in this project includes the installation of pipes, which has reached 96%, the construction of a 2,000 m³ reservoir, which is 75% complete, and the construction of a 100-meter bridge, which is 95% complete. These achievements reflect WIKA's consistency in keeping the project on track in terms of quality, time, and cost.
In its implementation, WIKA applies construction innovation through the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) as an effort to optimize pipe waste material management. The application of this innovation has proven to be effective in increasing material efficiency, where the waste level has been reduced from the tolerance limit of 3.0% to 1.9% in the planning stage and 1.2% in the implementation stage. This strategy also supports more precise and sustainable control of work in the field.
The Sepaku IPA Interconnection Network Project will serve as the backbone of the regional drinking water system in the Sepaku and Nusantara Capital City (IKN) areas. Through a large-capacity transmission network, this project ensures a reliable, continuous, and high-quality supply of raw water, while reducing dependence on local water sources that are vulnerable to seasonal factors and environmental degradation. Thus, this project is an important foundation in realizing water security for the IKN region.
In line with the 3rd Asta Cita, this project contributes significantly to promoting equitable development, particularly through the provision of strategic basic infrastructure outside Java, while improving the quality of life of the community through access to clean water, which has a direct impact on health, sanitation, and productivity. In addition to supporting the development of the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN), the benefits of this project are also felt by the communities in the buffer zones, so that national development is more inclusive and equitable.
WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito (BW) stated that this project is part of WIKA's commitment to supporting the national strategic agenda. “The construction of the Sepaku IPA Interconnection Network is not merely an infrastructure project, but an important foundation for water security and the quality of life of communities in the IKN area and its surroundings. WIKA is committed to providing reliable, sustainable drinking water infrastructure that delivers long-term benefits, in line with the Asta Cita and Indonesia's future development vision,” said Agung BW.
Going forward, WIKA aims for this project to become a national benchmark for large-scale drinking water infrastructure development, while also supporting the success of IKN as a livable, green, and globally competitive city of the future. This project is expected to become a legacy infrastructure that supports sustainable national development in the long term.
