PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) supports the smooth flow of the 2026 Eid homecoming traffic through the temporary opening of functional access on the Probolinggo–Banyuwangi (Probowangi) Toll Road, Situbondo Barat segment. This functional access is expected to help reduce congestion on arterial roads while providing an alternative route for road users traveling in the eastern part of East Java.
This initiative forms part of WIKA’s support for the 2026 Eid homecoming period, which carries the theme “Safe Homecoming, Sharing Hope,” by providing infrastructure that supports safer, more comfortable, and efficient travel for the public.
The Situbondo Barat functional access is open in both directions exclusively for Group I vehicles (non-buses) from March 14, 2026, to March 29, 2026, with operational hours from 06:00 WIB to 16:00 WIB.
WIKA President Director stated that the opening of this access reflects the company’s contribution to supporting community mobility during the Eid homecoming period.
“The opening of the functional access of the Probowangi Toll Road is part of WIKA’s commitment to delivering infrastructure that provides direct benefits to the community, particularly in supporting mobility and regional connectivity in East Java,” said the WIKA President Director.
As part of the strategic Trans-Java Toll Road network, the Probowangi Toll Road plays an important role in improving connectivity in the eastern part of East Java. The toll road connects Probolinggo to Situbondo/Besuki more directly and supports equitable economic development across the Tapal Kuda region through Banyuwangi.
The toll road is projected to reduce travel time between Probolinggo and Banyuwangi by approximately 30%–50% compared to the existing arterial route. In addition to improving travel efficiency, the toll road is also expected to reduce logistics costs through decreased congestion and improved fuel efficiency, thereby supporting smoother distribution of goods and services in the coastal areas of East Java.
