PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has once again achieved a remarkable feat by earning the "TOP" Sustainable Construction rating for two of its strategic projects, namely the Sadawarna Dam Project and the Kretek 2 Lot 3 Bridge Construction Project. This award was presented by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) in recognition of WIKA's commitment to implementing sustainable construction principles in accordance with the provisions of PUPR Ministerial Regulation No. 9 of 2021.
As the contractor involved in the Sadawarna Dam Construction, WIKA successfully met the technical requirements for sustainable construction from the general planning stage to the construction phase. Ahmad Saqowi Amin, the Project Manager, stated, “This project not only increases water storage capacity and flood control but also integrates environmentally friendly practices, which are part of the company's sustainability policy.”
In addition, the Kretek 2 Lot 3 Bridge Construction Project, which is a crucial part of the South Coast (Pansela) Java route, also received a similar rating. This bridge is not only important from an infrastructure perspective but also supports tourism along the Pansela route. Muh. Rivai Mi’roj, the Project Manager, said, “WIKA utilized advanced construction technologies such as Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB) and MSE Wall to ensure stability in earthquake-prone areas, as well as soil replacement techniques to address liquefied soil.”
WIKA's President Director, Agung Budi Waskito (BW), expressed his pride in this achievement. "This award is tangible proof of WIKA's commitment to always prioritizing quality and sustainability in every project we undertake. We are committed to continuing to support national infrastructure development that is not only technically strong but also environmentally friendly and sustainable," said Agung Budi Waskito.
This recognition further solidifies WIKA's position as a leader in the construction industry with a focus on sustainability, while also supporting the achievement of robust infrastructure development goals that have a positive impact on the wider community.
