PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) won an award at the Year In Infrastructure Going Digital Awards 2024 International Competition organized by Bentley Systems USA in Vancouver, Canada. The competition was attended by more than 260 projects from 36 countries around the world and aims to advance digitization in infrastructure, covering the entire process from planning, construction, to operations.
In this event, the KSO WIKA Project in the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago, won the position as Top 3 Finalist in the Facilities, Campuses, and Cities category through a presentation led by Rizky Yusuf Ramadhan as BIM Strategist, Octob Bhayu Hanggoro Putro as BIM Lead, and Davin Pradipta as BIM Coordinator.
Budi Kurniawan as Project Manager of the Building and Overseas Division as well as accompanying the WIKA team in the presentation, emphasized the importance of digital advances in construction, especially in geospatial management, green building, energy analysis and engineering that have an impact on social, economic and sustainability in the context of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). IKN itself is planned to be a sustainable green city with an allocation of 75% green area that aims to address problems such as pollution, flooding, and congestion that exist in Jakarta.
“The application of BIM and Digital Twin solutions at WIKA has succeeded in overcoming dynamic design changes, completing collision detection, and optimizing schedules to save project costs,” said Budi.
In addition to this award, WIKA also won the Founders' Honor Going Digital Awards at the same event through the IKN Nusantara Toll Road Project Section 3B & 3B-2 and the East Side National Axis Project.
The award was achieved thanks to the use of civil applications from Bentley which helped streamline the alternative design iteration process and increase the safety factor up to 1.2 times by meeting residual safety requirements using Plaxis software from Bentley Systems. WIKA also successfully uses the iTwin application to calculate carbon data in project design, so that the environmentally friendly materials used can help reduce CO2 emissions by 51,000 tons.
The Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure 2024 event is one of the most prestigious infrastructure events in the world, often referred to as the Oscars of Infrastructure, with various categories covering projects from various sectors. This award is proof of WIKA's dedication in supporting sustainable development and the application of digital technology in Indonesia's infrastructure sector.
