Construction of Tayan Chemical Grade Alumina (CGA) Project Begins
Unincorporated Consortium between PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), Tsukishima Kikai Co. Ltd and PT Nusantara Energi Abadi (Nusea) have been entrusted by PT Indonesia Chemical Alumina (PT ICA), a subsidiary of PT Antam (Persero) Tbk. (Antam), to carry out the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) work of Chemical Grade Alumina (CGA) project, the signatory of the contract on the project was held on August 31, 2010 in Jakarta. First Pilling ceremony was held today in area of the project which located in Sanggau District, Tayan, West Kalimantan (11/4).
The CGA factory will be built on an area of 36,410 thousand hectares and eventually will have a capacity of 300 thousand tons of alumina per year. The implementation period of project work will take 32 months from today, therefore the EPC contractor consortium is expected to submit the project to PT ICA by December 2013. In the project, WIKA trusted to work on Alumina Plant construction and other supporting facilities job covering energy facilities, jetty and administration building, with a total value of the work of U.S. $ 175.01 million, equivalent to IDR 1.57 trillion, which represents 55.91% of the overall project U.S. $ 450 million.
