Jakarta - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) which is incorporated with Kumagai Gumi Co., LTD. - Jaya Konstruksi Manggala Pratama Tbk, Joint Venture (JV) was appointed as the construction contractor of the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (JSDP) in package 2 and 3. This appointment is stated in the contract signed together in Jakarta (13/7).
In the signing process, Director General of Human Settlements Diana Kusumastuti, Director of Sanitation of the Directorate General of Human Settlements Tanozisochi Lase, Representative of Kumagai Gumi Minoru Saito, and President Director of WIKA Agung Budi Waskito were also present.
The project initiated by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) aims to improve environmental quality through quality domestic wastewater services in DKI Jakarta, through the construction of pipelines and pumping stations that function to treat wastewater.
Agung Budi Waskito said that WIKA has a 30% portion in the package 2 contract with a total value of Rp862 Billion. The scope of WIKA's work on the project located in Central Jakarta includes the construction of a pipeline network with a diameter of up to 1200 mm with pipe jacking and open cut methods. With a length of 14 km, this pipeline network is targeted to be able to serve the Menteng, Tanah Abang and Gambir areas.
While in the work of package 3 with a total contract worth Rp1.8 Trillion, WIKA has a portion of 30% with the scope of construction of a pipeline network with a diameter of up to 2000 mm through pipe jacking and open cut construction methods. With a length of 27 km, the pipeline network will be able to reach 3 administrative cities including Central Jakarta, West Jakarta and South Jakarta.
"These two projects are a continuation of Package 1 carried out by WIKA and located in Pluit, North Jakarta. Where WIKA's scope of work in the package is the construction of a pumping station as a sewage treatment system. This project is targeted to be able to serve 3 administrative cities covering Central Jakarta, West Jakarta and North Jakarta," Agung BW continued.
Through this development, the community not only gets facilities in the form of more secure water and sanitation conditions, but also provides benefits to the environment by protecting groundwater from pollution and minimising the potential for land subsidence.
"I hope the JSDP project can be accelerated so that the community can immediately feel the benefits," said Diana Kusumastuti.
Agung believes that WIKA will be able to again answer the trust given by the Government to handle and control flooding in DKI Jakarta province, after previously successfully completing the construction of the Ciliwung Sodetan East Flood Canal in accordance with the specified time.
